IRARA Membership
Annual membership of IRARA is £3.00 per household and is open to anyone living in Athelstan Road, Audley Road, Capel Road, Irvine Road and adjacent parts of Maldon Road and Shrub End Road.
The issues that concern IRARA have now begun to affect people from a much wider area than our local streets, particularly as so many more people use the few areas of open space left and the main footpath between the schools. As a result, associate membership is available to individuals resident outside the area who wish to join us.
If you wish to join you can either
- send your subscription electronically to The Royal Bank of Scotland, Irvine Road Area Residents Association, Account no 10052878, Sort Code 16-16-31 and let us know you have paid on info@irara.org.uk or:
- put a note and the money through the door of 30 Irvine Road, Colchester CO3 3TR c/o IRARA Membership Secretary.
…Join the IRARA community….
IRARA has recently:
• Succeeded in saving 60% the Irvine Road Orchard from development. We are now working to develop and preserve it as a community orchard, nature reserve and open learning resource for our local primary schools, particularly Hamilton School (who are very keen) as they have no green space whatever.
• Succeeded (in conjunction with Essex County Council) in having the permissive footpath between Philip Morant School and their playing field adopted as a full and permanent public footpath to ensure local schoolchildren can walk in comfort and safety to and from their respective schools. We are continuing to fight to save the Green at Painters’ Corner and the Irvine Road Field from development by Philip Morant School for their exclusive use.
If you are concerned about any of these issues, or they affect you or your children, you should join the IRARA community, regardless of where you live.
